Tea Time!

From time to time, as a shop owner, we are approached about making a donation or assembling a gift basket to be auctioned off at charitable and fundraising events. And in the past, we’ve enjoyed coming up with different items, but recently, Jackie and Cindy devised a brilliant idea, inspired by their mutual love of tea parties and baked goods, for these scenarios. When confronted with the opportunity to donate something special to Lindsay Holy Family for their Fun Night earlier this year, Jackie and Cindy decided to donate a Timeless-hosted tea party to be auctioned off at the event!

What we loved most about the idea (well, who doesn’t love a tea party?) was that it was a fresh and unique idea that would offer the winner more than just a possession; it would give them a one-of-a-kind, memorable, lovely experience they could share with some of their cherished friends. A couple of weeks ago, the day finally came for the winner of the prize to redeem her award, and Timeless hosted our very first inaugural tea party!

Charming Details

Of course, in true tea party fashion, we used antique china, silverware, glasses, platters, and vases.

We had eight fabulous ladies come in, dressed to the nines, for a sweet, entertaining, and lighthearted afternoon full of laughter, flowers, and festive activities. We served tea sandwiches, desserts, and salads (all courtesy of Cindy) as well as different hot and cold teas (of course!) and some festive infused bubbly!

spent the afternoon creating their own beautiful bouquets to take home, enjoying hand massages, playing tea party trivia, and just enjoying time with one another while records played in the background.

Suffice to say, the party was absolutely perfect (and so much fun!)—we already can’t wait for the ones to come! In fact, we donated another tea party to St. Michael’s Church, which was auctioned off at last month’s St. Patrick’s Carnival, so we are eagerly anticipating all the sweetness and fun that will accompany that one.

If you can’t already tell, we’re so excited to introduce this new idea and to continue hosting tea parties here at Timeless. So if you’re interested in having a magically divine private tea party with some of your favorite ladies—whether for a birthday, shower, special occasion, or just a girls day out—just ask us about it at (402) 395-2430 or stop by the shop!

Hop On In!

It’s nearly here! Our Spring-Palooza event!! We’re so excited for it, we’re wetting our plants!

We’ve got so many fun things planned, we don’t even know where to start.

To whet your appetite for the palooza, we’ll be having our Spring Open House all day Thursday from 9:00am to 5:30pm! Then on Friday, from noon to 8:00pm, it’s the big shebang—our spectacular Spring-Palooza! We have unique vendors coming from around the area setting up shop in the loft to offer one-of-a-kind products. And of course, and all of our spring goodies will be on full display in all their blooming glory on the main floor. If you even kind of enjoy spring, you’re not going to want to miss this event.

We hope to see all of your beautiful faces here!

Happy Spring!

It’s spring! We survived winter! For a minute there, all hope was nearly lost. And now we can breathe a sigh of relief and bask in the glory that is SPRING!

Spring in Nebraska has to be one of our favorite seasons. Everything is thawing and regenerating and blossoming and blooming. The air feels fresher. The grass is getting greener. The days are getting longer. The sun is a long lost friend we’ve sorely missed. (Yes, we’re fully aware we’re sounding like a Julie Andrews movie right now, but let us have this! It’s been a long winter, guys!)

If the changing weather outside is making you want to do some changing inside, like it has for us, then stop by the store and check out all of the sweet new spring and Easter merchandise! If we do say so ourselves, we have the absolute cutest Easter items in right now. It’s a joy just to walk through. Come see for yourself!

And if you’re not looking to add to your collection, you know our favorite way to liven up a space—bring the outdoors in! Spoil yourself with a beautiful spring-y floral arrangement or take a walk through some of our lush houseplants and choose one for yourself. From fiddle fig leaf to fern, incorporating some live green into your space is a quick, surefire way to breathe some life back into your home!

There Is No Place Like Nebraska

Well, we’ve done a fair amount of cursing the weather in the past couple of months as we anxiously await the arrival of spring. But after last week’s extreme conditions, we’re suddenly feeling a little silly for having complained about a little bit of cold and snow.

It seems like, every once in awhile, something happens that really puts things in perspective. It basically grabs you by the shoulders, shakes you, and makes you realize just how lucky you are (and just how much you take for granted). We spend our days hustling toward our next goal or for more money to be able to afford this or that, and we forget to take the time to just stop and recognize how blessed we are where it counts. There’s a quote that seems very fitting here that says, “Don’t let the things you want make you forget the things you have.”

Today, there are folks who are waking up in a fire station or on someone else’s couch. Homes are gone. Roads are gone. Businesses are gone. Bridges are gone. Pets and livestock are gone. And for some, it’s even worse. Our hearts go out to all of the people in communities throughout Nebraska and the Midwest who have been impacted, displaced, or endured devastating loss.

And while the sight of it all breaks our hearts, the coming together of people really warms our hearts. In the wake of such devastation, we can’t help but be extremely touched by all the good happening. It seems like the worst has a way of bringing out the best in people.

Communities throughout the state are full of people taking care of one another. It’s a spectacle that would restore your faith in humanity. A testament to the goodness of people. So we wanted to give a little shout out to all the hearts of gold here in “the Good Life.”

There’s something different about Nebraskans. They cling to their values, and they’re people of great character and virtue. So it’s no surprise that, in the midst of all of this destruction, you aren’t hearing about businesses in their vulnerable state being looted or robbed. You aren’t hearing about people turning their backs on others or taking advantage of abandoned houses. You aren’t seeing locals turning against the police or hearing “every man for himself.”

Instead, you’re hearing stories of people giving endlessly to fellow humans in a time of need. You’re hearing stories of good samaritans going above and beyond, using their boats and machinery to rescue families from their homes. You’re hearing about grocery stores and restaurants donating bottled water and food for free. You’re hearing stories about the great lengths people have gone to to save one another and to save their animals. You’re hearing about a farmer who lost his life to try to help a complete stranger.

All around the state, you’ll find people helping people. Neighbors lending a hand. First responders, volunteers, friends, and family showing up for each other and for perfect strangers. Because that’s Nebraska. It’s heartwarming to see and heartwarming to be a part of. Just like the song says, “we stick together in all kinds of weather. There is no place like Nebraska.”

It’s true that “it’s not for everyone.” Because not everyone is tough enough for the frigid winters and scorching summers, not everyone is compassionate enough for it, self actualized enough for it, hard-working enough for it, patient enough for it, or just generally cut out for it. Not everyone sees beauty in simplicity. Not everyone is capable of slowing down and being present. Not everyone appreciates a way of life based on hard work, integrity, and meaningful relationships. But I think we kind of like it that way. I know I love that we’re a hidden gem. If everybody knew Nebraska was this great, we’d run out of room because everyone would want to be a part of something this special.

We can’t imagine what those who have been hit the hardest are feeling—they’re making frequent appearances in our prayers—but we’d imagine that if they had to go through this anywhere, they’re glad it’s in Nebraska.

International Women’s Day 2019

Happy International Women’s Day!

Much like other such holidays, today we take time to spotlight, acknowledge, and celebrate a specific group of people, while also understanding that they deserve our respect, recognition, and appreciation every day. Nevertheless, it’s a great opportunity to express our gratitude, respect, recognition, appreciation, and celebration of the magical wonder that is: woman.

Here at Timeless, we’re an ensemble cast of females—several of whom have side hustles, have built other businesses, and have families as well. From baked goods and photography to hair styling and raising children and grandchildren, these gals do it all. So while, as women, we’re sometimes reluctant to accept a compliment, we know from watching one another—and from our experiences with other wonder-women who hold the world together with their strength, grace, compassion, determination, generosity, and spirit—that women are a force to be reckoned with, capable of so much more than we realize.

So to all you wonder-women out there, we want to send you a virtual pat on the back. And actually, that falls far short—we want to send a virtual bouquet of flowers, hug, mimosa, trophy, confetti shower, and marching band. Because you are so remarkably amazing. (Way more amazing than you even realize you are.)

Women are queens. Making magic. Making days. And quite literally, making people. (!!)

They are powerful, capable, vibrant, enchanting, and strong. They encourage, and they build. They create, and they sustain. They nurture, and they challenge. They are tough as nails but with delicate edges. And most heartwarming of all is that, most of the time, they’ve got their hands too full to even notice their own impact.

So here’s to all the amazing women out there . . .

You have dreams, babies, and impossible schedules.

You make magic and make sense of the world.

You run errands, marathons, and companies.

You build careers, build character, and build up those around you.

You hold diplomas in your hands and children on your hips.

Here’s to you feeling the caliber of love and warmth you radiate always.
